中国の衝突事故スキャンダル、関係省庁の役人が$2.8bn横領？

中国の高架橋上で追突事故を起こし多くの死傷者を出した事件があったが、今年の2月、中国の鉄道を管理する関係省庁の役人が横領の罪で逮捕、彼の上司にあたる鉄道省大臣も同時に逮捕されていた、というテレグラフの記事。逮捕された役人は、職務中に現金を横領して海外口座に$2.8bnを隠しており、大臣の方も賄賂として￡95mil以上受け取っていたとChina Central TVが伝えたと、中国のニュースウェブサイトSina Weiboが掲載したが、そのエントリーは早々に削除された。（原文は下参照）

（どこまで真実かは、この記事からだけではわからないけれど、それにしても、$2.8Bnという数字に度肝を抜かれた。）

（引用）Zhang Shuguang, the former deputy chief engineer of China's railways, was detained in February on suspicion of corruption. His boss, Liu Zhijun, the Railways minister, was also arrested at the same time.

China Central Television, the state broadcaster, appeared to confirm rumours about the enormous sums that had been stolen. In a report on the Sina Weibo website, that was quickly deleted by censors, CCTV said Mr Zhang had $2.8 billion in his overseas accounts and that Mr Liu had taken up to 1 billion yuan (£95 million) in bribes.
